(This information was taken directly from the Montana Department of Justice.)
This Registry provides an up–to–date listing of sexual and violent offenders who are required to register their whereabouts.
The Registry, created in 1989, is located in Helena in the Department of Justice. In creating the Registry, the Legislature acknowledged that there is a compelling interest in providing the public with information about people convicted of sexual and violent offenses. This information can help citizens protect themselves and their children from sexual and violent offenders.
Anyone who uses this information to injure, harass or commit a criminal act against any person may be subject to criminal prosecution.
Free Search – You can search the Registry for free by name, by city or county, or by offender type.
Fee Download – The Registry’s offender database may also be downloaded for a fee through the online SVOR Download service. Individuals or businesses such as background check companies that use this service must accept an online use agreement prior to downloading the database.
