The Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry site provides information on sex offenders identified as having a high risk to reoffend and as dangerous to the community. Unlike some states, Massachusetts makes this clear on the home page. This straightforward approach is evident throughout the site.

Information Provided:  

The sex offender profiles include a standard physical description that lists age, race, sex, height, weight and hair and eye color. Residence and work addresses are included and clearly identified. Offense information is sparse, offering only the number of offenses, offense name, which was abbreviated in some cases, and the date of conviction. 

Search Functions:  

Search the Massachusetts registry by last name, city name, county, postal code or offenders who are not in compliance with their registration requirements.

Massachusetts offers information for victims, sex offenders and the public, plus legal information. Note: On this page you can also get a list of Level 2 and Level 3 sex offender totals by town.

This site does not have a mapping function. 

Ease of Use:  

The Massachusetts site has a simple search function with understandable directions including the ability to input partial names for fields and convenient drop down menus for city and county.
