The State of Maryland’s Sex Offender Registry offers a sophisticated search function with detailed results and several mechanisms to alert you to changes of location for specific sex offenders. Maryland has designed a thorough site to help its residents find the information they seek quickly and easily with convenient dropdown menus not seen on other sites.

Information Provided:  

Profiles contain the standard information: name, address, charge and category, the police or sheriff’s office that provided the information, date of birth, age and current status. A clear thumbnail accompanies the profile and a larger image is available. Simply click on the request to be notified of any status changes for a particular sex offender. 

Search Functions:  

Like other top ranked sex offender registries, search by offender or by location. Maryland allows you to narrow your search by offender type: child sexual offenders, offenders, sexually violent offenders and sexually violent predators. You may also search for sex offenders employed or enrolled at post-secondary schools and registrants that are not Maryland residents. The interactive map displays icons corresponding to the type of sex offender. The map also includes the locations of churches, schools and other locations where the proximity to a registered sex offender may be of concern.

Email and telephone alerts are available through the State and through the national service Vinelink. Links are available to all online sex offender registries for other states and to the national sex offender registry. Maryland is one of the few states to offer downloadable registry listings that can be viewed, searched and printed. Basic questions and answers are found on the FAQs page.
